Hurricane Season is Here

Yale Enforcement Services DART (Disaster Activated Response Team) unit is gearing up for the 2011 hurricane season.  June 1st officially begins the 2011 season which will run through November.  The 2011 season is ripe for devastating hurricanes especially on the Atlantic coast according to NOAA’s National Hurricane Prediction Center.  Three to Six major hurricanes are being predicted to devastate areas of the U.S. this year.  This is being described as a very active season. The DART team is now in the process of enrolling officers to participate in upcoming call outs.  Please contact the Human Resources person in your region to inquire about the team and sign up.  Members will begin this year to be recognized with an official uniform pendant.  From the years I have been associated with Yale Enforcement Services DART team, I have always felt a sense of pride, and satisfaction that comes from being a team member, and serving clients and communities that face dire disasters.  Make no mistake about it; officers that make the commitment are part of an elite group that boasts proven capability in response to unimaginable disasters.

Linn Baer,
DART Director
