13 Tornadoes Confirmed, More Possible

The National Weather Service confirmed 13 tornadoes touched down in the Dallas Ft. Worth area on Tuesday, April 3rd and it is believed more may be confirmed. A total of 55 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and 18 Tornado Warnings were issued by the Fort Worth office of the National Weather Service between 7:32 a.m. and 8:13 p.m. Several of the tornadoes touched down near our posts, luckily no damage was reported at any of the sites. One touched down in Mesquite, TX about a quarter mile from our office and an oil change building was almost completely leveled.
Unbelievably, there were no reports of any serious injury with any of the touch downs and the damage they left behind. Several of our sites went to “take cover” mode and our officers did a fantastic job of helping to guide everyone to safety and in notifying our office of the potential disasters. This is the time of year for severe storms, so it is imperative that you refresh yourselves on the proper disaster procedures and be ready!

Sincerely,
Russell Rucker, Regional Manager- Region 3
